Width is measured flat across the chest. Length is measured from the high shoulder to the hem. These are published garment specifications; a manufacturing tolerance of approximately 1½ inches may apply.

Texture, grain, and a mark cut into the center.

The back features a detailed wood cross-section with visible growth rings and natural edges. The Oakwell mark is carved through the middle, framed by “CARVED BY THE WORK” above and a small OAKWELL signature below. A compact chest print carries the same material character without repeating the full graphic.

Printed on a Comfort Colors 1717 tee, the substantial 6.1 oz cotton feels soft rather than stiff. Garment dye gives the color depth and a worn-in finish from the first wear, while the relaxed fit keeps the silhouette easy.

The woodcut-inspired art and warm ink pair especially well with faded black denim, olive pants, tan canvas, and neutral shorts. Review the size chart before ordering.

Care

Wash cold, inside out, with like colors. Use a gentle cycle and non-chlorine bleach only when needed. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Do not iron the printed artwork or dry clean the shirt. Follow the garment label if its instructions differ.

BEHIND THE DESIGN

Carved by the Work

A tree’s cross-section records years of growth in rings, grain, knots, and interruptions. The finished form is inseparable from everything that produced it, which is why the Oakwell mark appears carved into the center rather than placed on top.

The design treats work the same way. Repeated effort changes ability, judgment, habits, and character gradually. Much of that change is difficult to notice while it is happening, but over time the evidence becomes part of the person doing the work.

Carved by the Work is not about being consumed by work or performing ambition for other people. It is about the quieter truth that worthwhile effort leaves a mark, and that the mark can become part of a life built well.
